KIPP students spend almost 50% more time in school than they would in a traditional public school, follow a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, and participate in a nationally recognized character development program, which emphasizes grit, curiosity, and optimism, to foster long-term success in college and life. By 8th grade, students are testing in the top three schools in the entire city on reading—year after year—showing remarkable annual gains. KIPP 8th graders have also achieved top math rankings nationally.
